KENDRA MCLAUGHLIN
Kendra McLaughlin is a filmmaker-scholar. By employing creative nonfiction and speculative modes of inquiry, her work examines how individuals reconcile subjective experiences of place with the transient nature of matter, particularly within forms of labor and dwelling that engage land’s materiality, such as agriculture, paleontology and environmental protection.
She is a Ph.D. student in Film and Visual Studies as well as Film Study Center fellow at Harvard University. She was previously in residence at Le Fresnoy, France’s national contemporary arts studio, and a participant in Sciences Po’s School of Political Arts (SPEAP). She holds a M.A. in International Affairs & Human Rights and a B.A. in Visual & Environmental Studies.
